Vineyard

The rocky claylike soil naturally protected by the mediterranean marqui from the cold north winds, plenty of sunshine all year round and the vineyards facing the South-West towards the sea make it especially suited to the cultivation of grape and olives.

Surrounded by the most important D.O.C.s of Tuscan Maremma (  Morellino di Scansano, Montecucco, Monteregio di Massa Marittima  ) the farm “MUSTIAIO“ enjoys an ideal microclimate that makes its products unique.

The vineyards have been replanted in the last few years to ensure a product of top quality, grounded in tradition but projected towards the future….Therefore, the plantation has been of over 4000 plants per hectare and the production has been drastically reduced compared to the past when most of the produce was sold to the cooperative wineries.

Today "MUSTIAIO" has 12 hectares of vineyards almost completely replanted. The main grapes Sangiovese for the red variety along with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Ciliegiolo, and Vermentino for the white with some Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia and Riesling Renano.The planting used is “cordone speronato”.
